Kathryn Henzler is a graduate student in the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music studying Music Technology and Digital Media. Equipped with a bachelor’s degree in East Asian Languages and Cultures with an emphasis in Japanese from the University of Southern California, she is working to interpret the music industry and create within it from an international angle. Her musical horizons have broadened from a choral, orchestral, and American musical theater background to include knowledge of solo vocal technique, piano, viola, guitar, harmonica, koto, and traditional Japanese theatre genres. To date, her musical projects have included composing orchestral and choral works, writing music for short films, animation, and stage productions, and acting as music consultant for the University of Toronto Varsity Blues figure skating team. She has made it her goal to incorporate her world experiences with a life-long study of performing and writing music to create a style that is best described as culturally tinged with a classical influence.
