Julia Pajot is a composer-researcher. Being the only artist creator in a scientific family, her love and fascination of science is expressed in her entire creative process. The emotion in her work is the soul of humanity on nature. As an artist, she feels that her art and research is a different yet complementary approach of science.
She earned awards as "emerging pictorial and film composer" and for most concert and film works. Member of several American cinema organizations, she votes for Spirit and Annie awards, and was a judge on Annie Awards 2017 music committee.
She was preselected for doctoral contract at 2019 PSL-SACRe-CNSMDP (France) for her multidisciplinary project "Creation and Perception of Bio-instrumental Soundwork as Art and Matter in Spacetime: a multisensory language of organic or symbolic environment." Initiated in 2008, it is a new score design, orchestration and theory of music for concert and multimodal artworks) through wave-particle duality, aiming to create technological applications in art and sensory therapy as well as prostheses based on synesthetic algorithms for patients with sensory deficits.
Also a pianist and dark dramatic/coloratura soprano (C2-D6+), she started piano at 8 years old with her mother, entering the Junior Preparatory of Guildhall School of Music and Drama 4 years after in piano then composition. She earned a composition Bmus from the Oberlin conservatory (Ohio USA) and Mmus from the Royal Academy of Music (London UK).
Forming an extensive repertoire for solos to orchestra, her works are melodic, expressive and pictorial following her thought "Music is sonic organization, its design and structure in an abstract, emotional, or narrative way.
She lived in Tokyo (1986), Austin Texas (88), Stavanger Norway (91), London UK (94), Houston Texas (2001), Oberlin OH (Bmus, 05), London (Mmus, 09), Pau France (12), Anglet France (12), holding both a French Scientific Baccalaureate and an American High School Diploma.
