Lolita Ritmanis is a ten time Emmy Award nominated composer, having won this award in 2002 for her work on the animated series “Batman Beyond” for outstanding music composition. Lolita received her first Primetime Emmy Nomination for her Main Title Theme for the Warner Bros. television series Justice League. Her second Primetime Emmy Nomination was shared with Michael McCuistion, Kristopher Carter, James Tucker and Michael Jelenic for their musical – Batman: The Brave and the Bold – Mayhem of the Music Meister, starring Neil Patrick Harris. Along with her colleagues Michael McCuistion and Kristopher Carter, otherwise known as “Dynamic Music Partners”, Lolita, Michael and Kristopher have scored a number of TV series.
Lolita’s early career was centered around work in the field of orchestrating, having worked as an orchestrator for composers Michael Kamen, Basil Poledouris, Shirley Walker, Mark Snow, Carter Burwell, Snuffy Walden to name but a few. She has been an orchestrator on well over 100 films / mini-series and television programs including “Lethal Weapon 4”, “X-Files Movie”, “Swimfan”, “Jeepers Creepers 2”, “Robin Hood-Prince of Thieves”, “Final Destination”, “The West Wing”. Lolita orchestrated a portion of the closing ceremonies of the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta.
Lolitas concert works have been and continue to be performed throughout the USA, Canada, Europe, Taiwan, Latvia and Australia. Her cantata “A New Day” was performed at Lincoln Center, New York. Lolita’s music for film and television has been performed at international film music festivals, most notably in Ubeda, Spain in 2012, and in Tenerife in 2014. Lolita is a member of the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, The Society of Composers and Lyricists, and The Alliance of Women Film Composers. Lolita is married to music producer Mark Mattson. They have three children.
